NM4-I NextMeter Installation

This article outlines the process for installing the NM4-I NextMeter.

Installation

1. Attach meter couplings 

Secure couplings set to the water line and place new gaskets in each end.

2. Ensure correct spacing

The water line should be parallel and should have a spacing of 7.5" or 177.8 mm.

Caution

Spacing should allow for meter without pushing, pulling, or kinking the line.

3. Secure the NextMeter

Place the NextMeter and tighten both ends to a max torque of 11 ft-lb using a flat jaw or monkey-style wrench.

Caution

Do NOT overtighten meer couplings as this may result in the gaskets not forming a proper seal

Pressurize the water line and check for any leaks at both connection points

3. Verify NextMeter communication

Open the NextMeter register lid. The Meters’s RF LED will blink green when it is able to communicate with its Gateway.

Note

The NextMeter must be programmed in the NextCentury Cloud and its Gateway must be online, in order for it to begin communicating with its Gateway.
