Ownership of and access to NextCentury equipment data begin with the company under which the property listing is first created. If equipment and data ownership need to be transferred to a new company, the Property Transfer Request tool in the NextCentury Web Platform can be used to complete the transfer process.
Note
While the property transfer process is designed to make it easy to transfer properties and equipment data between companies, it does not replace proper communication between the representatives of the current and future owners. You should always coordinate with existing ownership before submitting a property transfer request.
Submitting a Property Transfer Request
Once you log in to the NCSS Web Platform, navigate to the Properties menu in the Home tab. Click the "+ Add Property" dropdown, then select "Request a Transfer".
Alternatively, you can also access the tool from the Tools menu in the bottom left corner of the screen.
In the New Transfer section, enter the serial number of the Gateway that corresponds to the property you would like to request. If you do not know the Gateway serial number, you can also enter the Property ID.
If you don't have the Gateway serial number or Property ID, you should contact the current property owner.
Once you've entered the Gateway serial number, you'll have the opportunity to review a snapshot of the property health. The snapshot includes information about the property and its devices.
Review the property health snapshot to confirm that you've requested the correct property. You can also confirm that the number and status of the devices on the property are what you expect them to be.
If the property is not the correct one, you should verify that you’ve entered the Gateway Serial Number or Property ID Number correctly. If you are still having issues, you may need to confirm the property details with a current property representative or contact us.
Once you've reviewed the property health snapshot, click the "Transfer" button.
On the Transfer Details page, you'll be able to verify and update certain details about the property and the transfer itself, such as the property name, management company, and transfer date.
You can also grant access to the previous billing company for a duration of your choosing.
Once you've updated any necessary details, click the right arrow to move to the next page.
If Direct Billing is required, you can turn it on within the Direct Billing page. You’ll need to provide the contact information for the property representative who will handle the payments. Click the right arrow to continue.
On the Service Details page, you’ll be able to see the services that are currently enabled on the property, including their cost. You can enable or disable any of the services on this screen.
Be aware that disabling services, such as cellular, may have a negative effect on property health or expected monitoring/alerts. Click the right arrow to continue.
On the Authorized Person Details page, enter the information for the company representative who is authorized to approve this transfer to you. Click the “Review Transfer” button.
On the Review Property Transfer Page, verify the details of the request. If there are any items you need to edit, you can click the left arrow to get to the relevant page and make the appropriate adjustments.
Once you’re ready to submit the request, press the “Request Signature” button at the bottom of the Review Form screen.
The authorized representative for the property will receive a request via email to provide a digital signature to approve the request. Once the request is approved, the property will be transferred to you following a brief processing period.
You can track the status of any property transfer requests within the Property Transfer Request dashboard.
Temporary Access
There are situations where a permanent ownership transfer is not appropriate. In many of these cases, temporary or secondary access is a better solution.
For temporary or secondary access rights, a Temporary Access Request form can be submitted. This allows for individual users to have secondary access in addition to the original organization. If all users for an organization require access, Group Access can be requested on the form instead of entering user emails one by one.
Forms can be submitted to Support via email at support@nextcenturymeters.com. A Support agent will review and process the request.
