Cellular Service Overview

To assist in daily operations, GW301 and GW4 Gateways include a built-in cellular modem which can be paired with a cellular subscription provided by NextCentury. The cellular service is designed to be a convenient, reliable, and flexible option—without any unexpected costs or complications.

The standard rate is $25 per property per month for most customers.* There are no data limits, setup or maintenance fees, or contracts to sign. You can enable the service when you need it and disable it when you don't.

Cellular is ideal for properties without a dedicated internet connection, but it also works well as a backup. If your primary internet connection becomes unavailable, you can enable cellular so your Gateway stays connected.

Cellular usage charges are billed on the first of every month for any Gateways with enabled cellular services. See Subscription Billing Details below for more on billing timelines and payment information.

* For customers with certain billing configurations, the monthly fee is $40. Please contact our customer support team or your equipment provider for more information.

How It Works

You can easily enable or disable cellular service at any time.

Cellular can be used as the Gateway's primary connection, or it may only be needed during installation. Either way, the billing is simple.

Subscription Billing Details

You can enable the cellular subscription at any time. When you enable cellular, the service will remain active until the last day of the month in which you disable it.

Invoices are generated on the first day of the month for the prior month's services. You'll receive the invoice on the fifth day of the month, with payment due upon receipt. As long as you have a valid payment method on file, payments will be processed automatically within two business days of when the invoice is received.

Your first invoice will be prorated based on the number of days the service was active in the prior month.

If you choose to discontinue cellular, the service stays active until the last day of that month. The bill for that month will be assessed on the first day of the next month, and it will be due on the fifth day of that month as normal.

To enable or disable the service, or to check its status, check out your property's Details page on the NextCentury web portal or mobile app. The Enabled or Disabled status determines whether cellular service will renew at the end of each billing period.

Paying for Your NextCentury Cellular Subscription

To streamline the billing process, you'll need to have a payment method on file. We accept credit cards and bank account payments. Once added, a payment method is enrolled in auto-pay by default. You may remove a payment method at any time from the billing section of the web portal.

You can easily add a credit card or bank account using the buttons below.

If no valid payment method is on file when we attempt to process your payment, the invoice will remain unpaid. A notice will be sent to you if a payment is unsuccessful. If payment is not received by the 15th of the month, you'll get a late notice.

To resolve charges that are past due, add a valid payment method or fix any issues with existing payment methods (which may involve contacting us or your financial institution). If an invoice remains unpaid for 90 days, your services will be paused. Once your balance is paid, full access to services will be restored, including uninterrupted read data.
