NextCentury Cellular Subscription

Overview

To assist in daily operations, GW301 and GW4 Gateways include a built-in cellular modem which can be paired with a cellular subscription provided by NextCentury. The cellular service is designed to be a convenient, reliable, and flexible option—without any unexpected costs or complications.

The standard rate for cellular service is $40 per property per month. Some customers qualify for a lower rate; contact our support team or your equipment provider to find out. There are no data limits, setup or maintenance fees, or contracts to sign. You can enable the service when you need it and disable it when you don't.

Cellular is ideal for properties without a dedicated internet connection, but it also works well as a backup. If your primary internet connection becomes unavailable, you can enable cellular so your Gateway stays connected.

Turn cellular on or off

You can enable or disable cellular at any time, and check its status, on your property's Details page in the NextCentury Web Portal or mobile app. Cellular can be the Gateway's primary connection, or you may only need it during installation.

Enabled

Disabled

The Enabled or Disabled status determines whether cellular service renews at the end of each billing period.

Billing

Cellular is billed monthly for every Gateway with cellular enabled. When you enable cellular, the service stays active until the last day of the month in which you disable it.

Invoices are generated on the first day of the month for the prior month's services. You'll receive the invoice on the fifth day of the month, with payment due upon receipt. As long as you have a valid payment method on file, payment is processed automatically within two business days of when the invoice is received.

Your first invoice is prorated based on the number of days the service was active in the prior month. If you discontinue cellular, the service stays active until the last day of that month, and that month's bill is issued on the first day of the next month and due on the fifth, as usual.

Example cellular timeline from March to June. Cellular is enabled partway through March, and the switch shows Enabled. It's disabled partway through May, but cellular stays on until the end of May and then turns off. Payments: April 5th, a prorated payment due; May 5th and June 5th, regular monthly payments due.

Pay for cellular

You'll need a payment method on file. We accept credit cards and bank account payments. Once added, a payment method is enrolled in auto-pay by default. You can remove a payment method at any time from the billing section of the web portal.

Add a credit card or bank account with the buttons below.

Use Credit Card Connect to Bank Account

If no valid payment method is on file when we process your payment, the invoice remains unpaid, and you'll get a notice that the payment was unsuccessful. If payment isn't received by the 15th of the month, the invoice is past due and you'll get a late notice. While a payment is past due, no new services can be enabled.

To resolve past-due charges, add a valid payment method or fix any issues with your existing payment methods (which may involve contacting us or your financial institution). If an invoice remains unpaid for 90 days, your active services are paused. Once your balance is paid, full access to services is restored, including uninterrupted read data.
