Instead of adding people one at a time, you can give a whole company access to a property. For example, you can give an installation company access instead of adding each of its employees as a user.
Company access works for a group of users, so it can save the email or phone requests that would otherwise be needed whenever another employee needs access to the property.
When to use it
- Your distributor provides pre-programming services and needs to create and program properties under your company.
- A technician or installation company is installing equipment, or needs continued access under its warranty provisions.
- A billing company needs access to reads before a different installation company has finished its contracted work.
Who gets access
Everyone at the company you add gets access at the user role you choose when you grant it.
That company manages its own users. As with all properties, any change to the property information or programming is logged and visible to admin users.
Share your company code
For the company that needs access: send your company code to an admin user at the company that has the property.
Under the Home menu, open the Users page.
At the top right, select the Groups tab.
Select Show Key.
Copy the code and send it to the company that needs to give you access.
Your company code isn't a security key
The code is unique and private, but it only lets another company give your company access to its properties. It doesn't give other companies access to your properties.
Add a company with its code
For the property owner: once a company has sent you its code, add the company to the property you want it to access.
Open the property.
In the property's menu, select the Users page.
At the top right, select Groups.
Select + Grant Access.
Enter the code you received from the company.
Choose the user role the company needs.
