Strip and Connect Wires

Ensure that the wires are a compatible gauge and width

A cable with its green, black and red wires stripped at the ends. Labels: the cable is 3 mm to 4.5 mm across; the wires are 18-24 AWG; suitable for solid or stranded wire.

Strip 3/16” of sheathing from each wire end, connect each wire to the Connector, and tighten.

Connecting the wires. On the left, a cable's green, black and red wires with 3/16" of bare wire at each end, ready to go into the left side of the blue wire connector. On the right, the other cable's green, black and red wires are already screwed into the connector's right side: green at the top, black in the middle, red at the bottom.

Align Connector

Place the Wire Connector into the shell using the post in the center. Channel the wires into the grooves.

The wire connector seated in the bottom shell over the center post, with each cable's wires laid in the grooves (green at the top, black in the middle and red at the bottom, on both sides) and the cables leaving through the ends of the shell.

Seal Shut

Test wired connections before sealing. Ensure all four clips are engaged and apply pressure.

End views of the splice kit closing, from left to right: the two shell halves lined up over each other, with red arrows pointing down to bring them together; the halves pressed together, with red arrows pushing in from opposite corners; and the closed shell, with marks at both sides showing the clips snapping shut.
