NextValve

Overview

Remote disconnect valve for shutting off or reducing water flow.

The NextValve is an IP68-rated remote disconnect ball valve designed to integrate with the Next Meters AMI platform. Remotely disconnect, reconnect, or reduce flow to your service locations from the comfort and safety of your office.

Five valve positions

NextValve supports five valve positions: Open, Closed, and Reduced Flow 1, 2, and 3. Reduced 1 is configured for a trickle flow of 1–2 GPM (at 60 psi) for utilities that don't want to fully disconnect water service. Reduced 2 and 3 can be customized to deliver other reduced flow rates, for conservation compliance or other uses.

Swivel nut

Each residential-size valve has NPSM-threaded male and female swivel nuts (1/2", 3/4", and 1") for easy installation directly to the meter. Every valve body is NSF61/lead-free certified, with a brass body and a stainless steel ball.

Simple servicing

The actuator can be serviced separately from the valve body. You can pre-install a valve body without a controller until valve control is needed, or service the two independently.

FAQ

Warranty

What does the NextValve warranty cover?

NextValve (models AVS 1/2", AVS 3/4", and AVS 1") is warranted against defects in workmanship and material for 20 years from the date of manufacture. During the first 10 years, a defective valve is repaired or replaced at no cost. During years 11–20, repair or replacement is discounted from the list price at the time of return:

  • Years 11–12: 50% discount
  • Years 13–14: 40% discount
  • Years 15–16: 30% discount
  • Years 17–18: 20% discount
  • Years 19–20: 10% discount

See the full NextValve 20-Year Limited Warranty for terms and exclusions.

Is there a maintenance requirement to keep the warranty?

Yes. The valve must be rotated at least once every 90 days, which the Sediment Turn default in the Valve Control software does automatically. Software and firmware must also be kept up to date as required by Next Meters. Valves that aren't maintained and operated this way aren't covered.

How do I make a warranty claim?

Contact Next Meters in writing within the warranty period, before sending anything back. If asked, ship the defective NextValve (at your expense) to the location Next Meters designates for evaluation. Valves received before you've notified Next Meters, or before a shipment request, won't be evaluated. Next Meters ships repaired or replacement valves back at its expense, subject to the prorated schedule.

Email warranty@nextmeters.com or call (844) 538-8203.

Does the warranty cover the meter or endpoint the valve connects to?

No. Third-party devices such as AMI endpoints, registers, meters, and communication modules aren't covered, even if sold with a NextValve. Their manufacturers may offer their own warranties, and Next Meters will make commercially reasonable efforts to help with those claims. Removal and installation costs also aren't covered.
