Watch the full walkthrough

Open the Insights page

  • In the left-hand navigation bar, click Insights.
  • This is the starting point for critical search and asset tracking.
  • The Insights page gives you a high-level view of device status across the system.

Understand the two main dashboard widgets

  • The Insights page is split into two sections:
    • Network
    • Billing
  • Each section shows three status categories:
    • Good / Online
    • Bad / Offline
    • NA / Not applicable
  • These widgets help you quickly identify which devices need attention.

Use the Network widget to review all devices in the system

  • The Network view includes all devices in the system, whether installed or still in inventory.
  • Status meanings:
StatusMeaning
OnlineDevices currently communicating
OfflineDevices not currently communicating
NADevices not yet installed or not assigned a location-sanctioned device
  • Use this view to understand overall device presence and communication health.

Use the Billing widget to review meter-paired devices

  • The Billing view only includes devices actively paired to a meter.
  • These are the devices expected to provide meter readings.
  • Status meanings:
StatusMeaning
GoodActively communicating and reporting recent reads
BadNo valid reading reported in the last three days
NAInstalled but never received an initial meter reading
  • The NA group may indicate a meter issue, cable issue, or another installation problem worth investigating.

Open a meter card to investigate a problem device

  • Click into a device from the Billing widget to open its meter card.
  • The meter card shows details such as:
    • Endpoint ID
    • Meter serial number (available in edit mode)
    • Current status and read history
  • The map will zoom to the meter's exact location so you can see where it sits in the overall system.

Search for a device using the meters table

  • Go to the Meters option to access the searchable table.
  • Use this when you cannot identify a device from the dashboard.
  • You can search by:
    • CIS account number
    • Business name
    • Address
  • Results update dynamically based on the field you enter.

Use the map and table together to identify the right device

  • As you hover over rows in the table, the matching dot on the map highlights.
  • You can also hover over a device on the map to move that record to the top of the list.
  • This makes it easier to visually confirm the correct meter when you do not know the device number.

Filter the table to only show devices visible on the map

  • If you know the general area of the device, use the filter to addresses visible on the map option.
  • As you zoom and pan, the table narrows to only the meters currently visible.
  • This is especially useful when searching a specific part of a city or service area.
  • Once you find the right address, click into it to open the meter information.

Review location and residence information on the meter card

  • The meter card includes both:
    • Location info
    • Residence info
  • You can use this to identify the account by homeowner, resident, or organization.
  • Example workflow:
    1. Open the meter card
    2. View the associated organization or residence
    3. Click through to see all locations tied to that account
    4. Return to the meter card when needed
  • Use the account search options to switch between:
    • Organization
    • Residence
  • If you know the resident or organization name, search there to find all associated accounts.
  • This helps you locate one specific meter among multiple locations tied to the same customer or resident.
  • Use this method to quickly navigate across the system and find the exact device you need.
