Open the Insights page
- From the left-hand navigation, click Insights.
- This is the main area for viewing consumption trends, meter details, and reports.
- The page will load on the right side of the screen.
Review consumption trends by time period
- Scroll to Consumption Trends.
- Choose the graph view that best fits your need:
- Monthly
- Daily
- Hourly
- By default, the graph shows the last 6 months.
- You can also switch to last 12 months or year to date.
- In daily view, you can compare last week, this week, or a custom week range.
Compare actual usage to typical usage
- Click a bar or data point in the graph to open a detailed preview.
- The preview shows:
- Actual usage for that time period
- Typical usage for the same day or hour
- This helps you quickly spot whether usage is above or below normal.
View the devices contributing to total consumption
- In the preview pop-up, review the table of devices that make up the total consumption.
- This table shows which meters contributed to the usage total.
- Use this view to identify the highest-consuming devices in the system.
Download consumption data directly from the preview
- From the preview pop-up, download the data as either:
- CSV
- Excel
- You can export:
- The full table
- A selected set of rows
- Example use case: export only the top 10 highest-usage meters without building a separate report.
Open a specific meter from the graph
- Click any account or meter entry to open its meter card.
- The meter card provides a deeper view of that specific device.
- You can use this to investigate one meter in detail instead of the whole system.
Review meter details and performance history
- In the meter card, review key information such as:
- Total gallons to date
- Last check-in time
- Endpoint ID
- Meter type
- Use the meter's trend views to see performance:
- Month-to-month
- Week-by-week
- Hour-by-hour
Inspect a specific day or hour of meter usage
- Select a day such as yesterday to see how the meter performed throughout that day.
- Click into a specific time period to view:
- Gallons used
- Typical usage for that time period
- This historical comparison helps estimate future behavior and identify unusual patterns.
Use the heat map and neighbor comparison
- Scroll down to the heat map.
- Darker cells indicate higher usage; lighter cells indicate lower usage.
- Review the comparison chart against nearby meters:
- Meters are compared within about a half-mile radius
- You can see how the selected meter compares to its neighbors
- This is useful for spotting meters that use significantly more water than similar nearby accounts.
Review the event table and billing read settings
- Scroll further to see the event table.
- The table includes:
- Timestamp
- Collection method
- Captured read
- Computer read
- Total consumption
- This shows consumption between the last two reads.
- The billing read multiplier can be adjusted if needed for CIS requirements.
- Changing the multiplier updates the billing read calculation.
Run a system-wide consumption report
- Return to Insights and open the Reports tab.
- Select Consumption Report.
- The report generates data for the full system.
- Use this when you want a broader view beyond a single meter or group.
Adjust the report date range
- Modify the report's date range to narrow or expand the results.
- The report regenerates automatically after changes.
- This lets you focus on the exact time period you need.
Schedule recurring report emails
- Create a schedule for automatic delivery of the report.
Example schedule
Weekly Consumption Schedule — send every Monday and Friday, delivered at 8:00 a.m.
- Add yourself as a recipient and save the schedule.
- The report will then be emailed automatically on the selected schedule.
Download or edit the report before saving
- Download the report at any time for immediate use.
- You can also edit the report layout.
Example edits
Remove the address field, or add group names.
- Preview the updated report, then download and save it for future reference.
Use these tools to monitor usage across the system
- The Insights page gives you both:
- Flow graphs for visual monitoring
- Reports for detailed usage analysis
- Use them to identify consumption:
- Across the entire system
- For a specific group
- For a specific device
