The NextCentury Submetering Solutions (NCSS) mobile app helps you set up and look after properties in the field. View real-time network status, equipment information and device locations, scan a device's barcode to add meter information, use Direct Connect to configure a device, or press the Test Connect button on a NextCentury device to look up its details.
The app works on iOS and Android devices. Older phones and tablets may have performance or compatibility issues.

What you can do
Programming
Enter everything you need for each unit from your phone or tablet. Add new devices to your properties, update property arrangements, and add photos and GPS coordinates of your devices for easy reference.
Direct Connect
Configure a Gateway, Repeater or meter device directly from your phone or tablet over Bluetooth. See How to connect with Direct Connect below.
Test Connect
Not sure whether your devices are connected? Use Test Connect to check a device's connection details and make sure the installation and radio network at your property are set up correctly.
Barcode Scanner
Scan a device's barcode to see its unit, building, utility type and more. From there, jump to the device's Unit Details page, or tap Replace Item to swap the device out.
How to connect with Direct Connect
Direct Connect lets you configure a NextCentury device directly from your Android or iOS device.
- Gateways: set up an Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection, turn cellular on or off, and force the Gateway to sync.
- Repeaters: put the Repeater in rapid check-in mode.
- Meter devices, such as the Remote Reader: set the meter's multiplier, unit of measure, signal type and initial meter read (IMR), so the device reads and reports meter data correctly.
Adding new devices to a property isn't done with Direct Connect. See Program equipment on the Equipment page.
Before you start
Your phone or tablet must be within 10 feet of the device, with Bluetooth turned on. You may need to allow the NCSS app to use Bluetooth and location services in your phone's settings.
Open the NCSS app and select Direct Connect from the menu.
Tap the device when it appears in the list.
Tap the Settings icon and adjust the connection settings as needed.
