Before you can program equipment, you need a property listing: the property's name, address and contact information.
You can create a property in the NextCentury Web Portal or the NCSS mobile app. Once it's created, you can enter meter defaults, the building layout and equipment programming.
Add a property
In the Web Portal, open the Home menu and select Properties.
Select the + Add Property drop-down.
Don't see + Add Property?
Creating properties takes the Admin or Technician user role. See User roles and permissions.
Select Add Property, then fill in the property details below.
The same drop-down has an Upload Property File option for 3rd Party .SDF and .BAK files. See Import an Inovonics property.
Property details
- Name (required): you can change it later if you need to.
- Address (required): at least a partial address, so reports use the right time zone.
- Billing Company: if you have access to more than one, select the company currently on contract with the property.
- Management Company: select a property management company, or create a new one.
- Custom ID (optional): an ID that identifies the property in your own records or in other software.
- Contact Info (optional): usually a property contact, for scheduling access to the property.
Next: add buildings and units
With the property created, add its buildings and units on the Program page: see Program a new property. For a property that's already set up, see Add or remove buildings and Add or remove units. You can also add them on the Equipment page: see Add buildings and units.
